Tom graduated from St. Cloud State University in 1994 with a degree in management. While working in management in the cabinet door manufacturing industry Tom completed accounting degree coursework and in 1998 began work at a public accounting firm. He gained experience in tax, payroll, audit, due diligence and other skilled areas with both privately held as well as publicly traded companies. Three years and two mergers later, the local accounting firm was now a national firm. Tom then worked as a manager of a regional accounting firm in central Minnesota working with diverse clientele from start-ups to nonprofits to multi-billion dollar corporations. Tom later worked as a Principal at a different regional accounting firm where he practiced in firm engagement quality control and quality reviews. Currently, Tom is growing a CPA firm modeled on helping businesses with their financial, accounting and general business needs in a unique way by using the skills and attributes he is strongest along with a network of trusted experts he has developed over time. Tom considers cloud and paperless technologies to be a future driver of effectiveness and efficiency within organizations.
Over the years Tom has gained valuable industry experience working with non-profit organizations, farm cooperatives, contractors, distributors, manufacturers, internet businesses, private equity investment companies, franchises in a variety of industries. He most enjoys using his organizational skills, problem solving and consultative skills to help others. Tom is an expert in auditing retirement plans and conducts peer reviews of other CPA firms throughout the United States. Tom enjoys spending his free time traveling, researching stocks and making improvements on the lake property.
Tom graduated from St. Cloud State University – G.R. Herberger College of Business (AACSB) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management. He took his accounting coursework at St. Cloud State University and the University of Minnesota and is a Certified Public Accountant. He is a member of the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants (MNCPA) and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and has served on several MNCPA committees over the years including on the general industries financial statement review task force, the employee benefit plan review task force, the employee benefit plan conference task force and was a member of the leadership cabinet for three years. Tom helped coach during his children's youth football and baseball days. He is currently chair of his local church finance committee. He has also served on the business advisory board of the Rasmussen College – St. Cloud Campus.
